Explore Residence Halls

Howard residences reflect the diversity of our students.

Howard University has nine Residence Halls on campus and 2 Residence Halls off campus in private apartment complexes. Each residence hall has 24/7 controlled entry, laundry facilities, and other amenities. The halls are managed by our Campus Apartments and WISH partners with additional facilities support from REDCAM.

Traditionally, our first-year residence halls are single-gender and our continuing residence halls are gender neutral. Please note housing is only guaranteed for 1st year freshmen and 2nd year sophomores that complete the housing application. All 1st year freshmen and 2nd years are required to live on campus and any exemptions must be submitted via this request process here. Those that do not receive housing in the application process should review resources on our off campus housing page linked here.
